Our multi-gauge railway track at Brampton Park is used to give rides to the public when the Society is ‘at home’ on Sunday afternoons between 2.00pm and 4.30pm from the beginning of May until the end of September.
We offer rides to the public on Wednesdays , 10.30 – 3.00 during the school holidays. July – August
Public hauling is one lap of our track circuit. Passengers can ride free of charge, but donations to our funds are always welcome!
We are usually able to offer rides behind Steam Locomotives and sometimes a diesel or electronically powered locomotive. The live steam locomotives are miniature versions of full size steam engines and burn coal and use water just like full size, therefore there may be risks of smut or burn damage to clothing (although very unlikely)*. Because of the time it takes to raise steam and cool these engines there maybe a delay at the start and end of the afternoon. Rides are always subject to availability and weather.
* Riders do so at their own risk.
